چکیده

It has been stated that the electrocardiogram in pulmonary valve stenosis gives an accurate estimate of right ventricular systolic pressure. Nadas (1957) writes "we have not found any patient with a right ventricular systolic pressure of more than 100 mm. of Hg who has not demonstrated at least one of the following three important electrocardiographic criteria: (1) RVY of more than 20 mms., (2) P pulmonale and (3) changes in the ST segment and T wave through V4. Furthermore, once any of these features are noted, the chances that the pressure in the right ventricle is high, are good." De Pasquale and Burch (1960) and Engle et al. (1960) report similar findings. We have had reason to doubt the value of the cardiogram in the prediction of right ventricular systolic pressure. The present study was, therefore, undertaken.

Diagnosis and surgical treatment of infants with critical pulmonary outflow obstruction. Study of thirty-four infants with pulmonary stenosis or atresia, and intact ventricular septum.

The records of 15 infants with pulmonary atresia and 19 infants with critical pulmonic stenosis and intact ventricular septum, all under 1 year of age, have been reviewed. Symptoms started earlier and were more severe in the group with pulmonary atresia. All patients showed arterial unsaturation, and many had congestive heart failure. The electrocardiogram was the most helpful tool in different...

[Pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum associated with severe aortic stenosis].

Pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum is the complete obstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract due to pulmonary valve atresia in the absence of ventricular septal defect. Pulmonary flow is dependent on the ductus arteriosus. Other morphological anomalies are also present. Aortic stenosis in association with pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum is extremely infre...

Right ventricular growth in a case of pulmonic stenosis with intact ventricular septum and hypoplastic right ventricle.

Adequate growth of the hypoplastic right ventricle in a patient with severe pulmonary stenosis with an intact ventricular septum was documented after pulmonary valvotomy in infancy. It is postulated that the growth of the ventricular chamber is largely the result of pulmonary regurgitation resulting from successful pulmonary valvotomy. Based on this and the observations of others on the growth ...

Pulmonary Valvular Stenosis with Intact Ventricular Septum and Right Aortic Arch.

Pulmonary valvular stenosis with right-sided aortic arch and an intact ventricular septum is a rare anomaly. Brock and Campbell (1950) and Abrahams and Wood (1951) stated that the aortic arch was left-sided in simple pulmonary valvular stenosis. Three years later, Campbell (1954) reported one patient with a right aortic arch from a series of 75 cases of pulmonary valvular stenosis with an intac...

Ventricular growth, measured by cardiac MRI, is not different in patients with tetralogy of fallot versus pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum or critical pulmonary stenosis after right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction

Background Cardiac MRI is used to measure right ventricular end diastolic volume indexed to body surface area (RVEDVi) and ejection fraction (EF) in the setting of pulmonary insufficiency (PI). There is data describing optimum RVEDVi, in tetralogy of fallot (TOF) patients, to provide a competent pulmonary valve and maintain long term RV function. Pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum...
